Supportive Counseling Services

Counseling is very effective for individuals or couples who may need additional support during their journey to become parents. If you are reading this, you know that one of the stressful aspects of having difficulty conceiving, or considering non-traditional options to build your family, is that your usual support system becomes an additional source of stress. As much as your family and friends, or even your partner, may love and want to support you, they simply cannot give you all the support you need.

Individual and/or couples counseling is a safe place to process the emotions that often times seem to take over while trying to have a baby: sadness, anger, isolation, and fear. Counseling provides support, guidance, and education. My counseling approach incorporates mind body strategies that are designed to help you find new ways to cope with the difficult emotions related to infertility. Effective coping strategies can help manage the stress of decision-making about infertility, ongoing medical treatments, or navigating through the adoption process. Uncertainty of outcome is a major source of stress during the journey, and counseling can help calm the seas of uncertainty.

Grief and loss issues are associated with infertility, and it is important to recognize and process these emotions. Counseling can help facilitate the grief process so that you can continue to move forward in your journey to become parents.
